I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker committed to providing high-quality mental health counseling. I have experience in numerous areas of social work, including medical social work, a partial hospitalization program, foster care, and private practice therapy with children, adolescents, individual adults, and couples. It’s a great feeling to help individuals, families, and couples develop tools that they can use to meet their own goals and work out solutions that are right for them.
I have had the privilege of working with clients facing a diverse range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, Autism, grief, trauma, and relationship issues. Coming from a communication background, I feel that good communication skills are a key to most relationships, and I love helping empower families by teaching them how to improve their lines of communication. Once communication skills are implemented, the sky is the limit on how great relationships can be.
Along with communication, emotional well-being is essential to living an abundant life. I use a warm, nonjudgmental approach to validate and really listen to clients as they explore their thoughts and emotions openly and then begin to heal and grow.
When working with clients who have experienced trauma, I love being able to lead them through EMDR sessions to process that trauma. It is so rewarding to see clients obtain peace after sometimes years of wrestling with the after- effects of trauma and abuse.
When not working, I love to travel, work on home improvement projects, hang out with my grandkids, participate in community theater, read, and cook.
I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and then a Master’s degree in Social Work. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Texas.
The primary modes of therapy I use are CBT, Client Centered Solution Focused Therapy, EFT, IFS, Play Therapy and I am EMDR trained.
